Tech Tuesday

Hello KRP! I hope you had a great introduction meeting yesterday! I can't wait to be with you. I look forward to reading your "introduction" posts!

For Tech Tuesday, I am introducing Quizlet.

Quizlet features an additional tool for your arsenal to assist students in learning vocabulary. You can make personalized vocabulary for your students to learn and review. We are new to this website, but my students are using this site to help develop vocabulary from our class read-aloud The Totally Made-Up Civil War Diary of Amanda MacLeish (by Claudia Mills), and for our Titanic research project.

Some quick features of Quizlet:
  • You can print out vocabulary cards to send home with your students.
  • You can search existing vocabulary cards and import them into your collection.
  • Your students can search for you by your username, and practice existing sets you have created.
  • Quizlet will give "auto define" as an option for creating definitions, or you can give your own.
  • There is a voice feature to read words allowed to students.
  • Provides immediate feedback as students practice the spelling and definitions.
  • There are games for students to practice vocabulary.

I hope you are able to take some time to set up an account and explore Quizlet. I would love to hear ideas of how you might use this in your classroom. (This might provide an excellent review station leading up to the CATS Testing Window.)
